My Little Boys (Poem)
59
This tiny little life, soft petals and warm velvet for skin,
Nuzzling against me, trusting, my heart has been taken again.
His big brother, not so soft, much more sturdy, strong, and wild,
Still nuzzles and trusts me, too, he will always be my first child.
Daddy took my heart first, but made it whole by giving his,
And now we've made these wondrous beings, precious gifts.
Both have blue eyes, blond hair, my chin, and both our monkey toes,
Two different temperaments, but the jury's still out on whose nose.
Big brother is strong willed and loving, brilliant, spirited and unruly,
Little man is thoughtful and mellow, gentle, sweet, doesn't cry unduly.
They are mine, and my heart is a gooey puddle of oozing adoration,
Little hands, dimpled knees, and chubby thighs flood me with elation.
I ache and swell with love when I kiss their cheeks, stroke their skin,
Both my boys are perfect and I'm so fantastically happy I did this again!

That is beautiful. As a mom of three boys each a year apart, this is special to me. Well done and beautiful!
